Are You Having a “Healing Crisis”?

Have you ever had the experience of starting on a detoxification process or started taking a nutritional supplement and began to feel worse not better?.Maybe you were having a healing crisis.A Healing Crisis is when all the body systems are working together to get rid of waste products and toxins, from the body, using all the available channels . This happens when the body is trying to get rid of toxins at a faster rate than it is able to dispell them from the body. During the cleansing period symptoms would be more severe because toxins are being dumped into the blood stream. This obviously would make one feel more sick or weak. The elimination channels of the body are the skin, the urine and the lower intestines or the bowels. The toxins and wastes are being released into the blood stream to be eliminated . This sets the stage for the body to begin to regenerate itself, replacing old tissue with new, replacing old cells with new .When any treatment  or cleansing system causes a large scale destruction of bacteria, a significant amount of toxins within the bacteria itself are released into the body and the blood stream for elimination. The more bacteria present and the stronger the endotoxins (toxins within toxins) the stronger the cleansing reaction would be. When any treatment or detoxification program, causes the organs of the body especially the liver  which is a store house for toxins, to release their poisons into the body for elimination ,a “healing crisis” may occur. Such symptoms are temporary and it can happen immediately, or after a few days of being on a detoxification program. Any Detoxification program, even fasting, which causes a massive and rapid break down of fat cells, which also are a store house for toxins, can trigger a “healing crisis” as poisons and toxins are released into the blood stream for elimination. Symptoms of the healing crisis may at first be identical to the disease it is meant to heal. But there is an important difference: elimination. A cleansing, purifying process is underway and stored wastes are being eliminated. The body, mind, and spirit are no longer fixed. things have begun to open up. Sometimes pain and symptoms during the healing crisis are mo re intense than that of the chronic disease, but it is temporary and necessary. Often the crisis will come after one feels their very best and most energized, setting the stage for the elimination. The whole body gets into action. Most people feel an energy boost at the beginning until the toxins start dumping into the blood stream for elimination. Physical reactions could include skin eruptions, nausea, headache, sleepiness, unusual fatigue, constipation, diarrhoea, head or chest cold, ear infections, boils, or any other way the body uses to loosen and eliminate toxins. An initial healing crisis usually lasts around three days but if the energy of the patient is low, it may last a week or more. If the symptoms become too strong , one should ease his way through the process. Drink lots of water to help with the elimination process. Juices and herbal teas are great for flushing out the toxins and help in speeding along the detoxification process. Rest, when you feel the need, use an enema to provide relief. A good massage can be helpful, and meditation can help with emotional issues. On rare occasions, a reduction or a temporary cessation of the product may become necessary. It has to be pointed out here, of course that not everyone suffers a healing crisis, or is even  aware that he is going through one. But at times ,and according to the amount of toxins that one has in his body, a healing crisis can and does occur. One crisis is not always enough for a complete cure. The person in a chronic “locked” disease state will often have to go through cycles of healing crises, with each one improving the condition some. It has taken time to develop a chronically diseased state, and time is required to let go of the “locked” energy, piece by piece. The body ought to be slightly alkaline for strength, endurance and energy.An Alkaline diet revitalizes and maintains health the natural way.The term pH stands for “Potential of Hydrogen”. It is the measure of the relative acidity or alkalinity of a solution. The pH level indicates the body’s acid/alkaline balance and tells the health of the individual. The scale of pH runs from 0 to 14.Zero is totally acidic and 14 is totally alkaline. The middle of the scale at 7, is neutral. Quality water has a pH of 7.It is extremely rare that a person is too alkaline. It is more likely to occur in someone who consumes little or no protein. For the vast majority though,  the  problem is more on the  acidic side. Human Blood should be slightly alkaline. (7.34- 7.45) Below or above this range means disease. A pH below 7.0 is acidic. A pH above 7.0 is alkaline.One must be careful not to acquire an acidic pH balance, which is caused by consuming too many proteins and grains. Too much stress can also trigger an acidic pH level. Too much toxins in the body  that deprives the cells of oxygen and nutrients can also cause an acidic balance . Effects of an Acidic Balance: ·         The body’s ability to absorb minerals and nutrients is compromised.·         Free radical damage is heightened.·         Mental clarity decreases·         Physical energy  is depleted·         Insomnia and disrupted sleep patterns.·         The immune system is impaired because friendly bacteria in the intestine dies.·         Colds ,infections and flu are more common. To maintain health the diet should consist of 60% alkaline forming foods and 40% acid forming foods. To restore health the diet should consist of 80% alkaline forming foods and 20% acid forming foods.We must consume both alkaline and acid ash-forming foods daily, but in the correct proportions. We should have 75% alkaline foods, while the remaining 25% should be acid forming foods. This would help to build up an alkaline reserve to neutralize the acids.  Raw fruits and vegetables should be consumed as much as possible. A good green power containing wheat grass, sprulina, chlorella, alfalfa, and barley would quickly return the body to a proper pH balance of 7.5. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. Your mental state is also an important factor in health, and can have an impact on your pH levels. Meditation, Tai Chi, Reflexology, massage, acupuncture, therapeutic touch, calming music, and yoga are all activities that buffer the acids of daily living and promote an alkaline body. So how do you monitor your pH levels to maintain alkalinity? First you buy,  in the drug store pH paper. Next choose either your saliva or urine, and collect a sample of either one. Place the pH paper in contact with the specimen you chose and immediately compare the paper’s colour to the colour code provided on the ph dispenser. To get an accurate reading of the state of your health it is recommended that pH levels be recorded  three times a day, morning, afternoon and night, for 30 days. Heart Diseases

Heart disease or cardiovascular disease is the leading health problem in the Western world claiming more than one million lives annually. Heart disease is when the heart and blood vessels fail to maintain the minimal amount of blood circulation throughout the body due to the narrowing of blood vessels.

Heart health contributes to health longevity because it affects not only the body but also the mind, and therefore has a long-term role in anti-aging.

Different Types of Heart Disease:

1.Coronary heart disease, or coronary artery disease is the accumulation of fatty deposits along the coronary arteries. The fatty deposits may have developed in your childhood, and continue to thicken and enlarge throughout your adult lifespan. That thickening narrows your arteries and can decrease or block the flow of blood to your heart.

Symptoms may include heaviness, tightness, pressure, and/or pain in your chest..

2.A heart attack, or myocardial infarction, occurs when your heart muscle experiences a severe or prolonged lack of oxygen caused by blocked blood flow to the heart muscle.

The blockage is often a result of a buildup of cholesterol and other fatty substances, which obstruct the flow of blood and oxygen to your heart, thus reducing the flow to the rest of your body.

If the blood and oxygen supply is cut off severely or for a long period, the muscle cells of your heart may suffer damage and even die, the result of which is dysfunction of the muscles of your heart in the area affected by the lack of oxygen supply.

Symptoms may include

Severe pressure, fullness, squeezing, pain and/or discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts for more than a few minutes

Pain or discomfort that spreads to the shoulders, neck, arms, or jaw

Chest pain that increases in intensity,not relieved by rest. and/or sweating, paleness, shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting, dizziness or fainting, weakness or fatigue.

Indigestion, bloating, burping and irregular pulse.

3.Congestive Heart failure is another type of heart disease. It is when the heart is not supplying the other organs of the body with enough oxygenated blood, and can be the result of high blood pressure, high sodium intake, heart valve disease, previous heart attacks ,to name a few.

swelling of legs and ankles,

shortness of breath,

fatigue,

loss of appetite

nausea,

persistent cough.

4.Yet another type of cardiovascular disease can be the result of malfunctioning heart valve.

When the heart valves malfunction, it prevents the flow of blood in and out of the heart. This is called Heart Valve Disease. This can be due to damage from a previous heart attack.Symptoms include

chest pain,

palpitations,

shortness of breath,

fatigue,

migraines and dizziness.

5.Angina is when a part of the heart is not receiving enough blood. It is identified by recurring chest pain. It is a symptom of coronary heart disease.

Symptoms include

squeezing or crushing pain in the chest,

pain in the arms, shoulders, jaw, neck and back.

Doctors must diagnose correctly if one is to receive proper and beneficial treatment for heart disease. Some common methods for diagnosing heart disease are, electrocardiogram(EKG), where a set of sensory pads are placed on strategic areas of your chest and a record of the heart’s beating patterns are recorded.

Another method is the Stress Electrocardiogram(Stress EKG), where one is put under physical stress , like running on a treadmill, where abnormalities in the beat of the heart are recorded.

Angiocardiography is another method which is used to diagnose the condition of the arteries. A catheter is inserted into the artery and dye is released into the blood stream. Blockages and other abnormalities are discovered on a monitor, by observing the dye flowing through the arteries.

It is always best to have a heart check up every year as part of the normal annual check up regardless of age, as heart disease can strike at any time.
